What’s New!Mount Hood Gardens Monthly Newsletter • JANUARY 2012Welcome to Mount Hood Gardens! We are so happy you are choosing to visit and explore our website. You will find copious information on the services we offer, including custom-tailored designs, which enhance and beautify our clients’ homes. Our portfolio pages give you an overview of the public spaces and commercial installations we have created over the years in the magnificent Columbia River Gorge. The residential gardens’ section presents you with an insight of our professional breadth and the numerous landscape styles possible. We have been experiencing an unusually dry and sunny winter, punctuated by occasional rain. This has allowed us to complete a lot of our own projects, among others a 250 foot long Bioswale along the west side of our property. It is designed as a dry creek bed, with different sizes of boulders and drain rock simulating a stream. The berm and banks are planted with natives, with wetland plants closest to the “stream”. The Bioswale provides natural, temporary storm water containment, as lands to the west of us drain toward our property, creating erosion issues. Recently the essential precipitation has finally arrived, and with it, mountain snows. The avid skiers around here are praying for much more snow to come. The New Year has begun, and with it many good resolutions have been established. May all of your hopes and wishes for the New Year come true, and may this be your happiest and most fulfilling year yet! I hope you find this newsletter helpful. Suggestions? Comments? info@mounthoodgardens.com Best regards, Marion McNew ![]()
